Damn Delicious Dark Chocolate Butter Cream Frosting

I like frosting. It's actually one of my most favorite parts of any cake or cupcake. It is also a make t or break it type of deal thing when it comes to any cake based dessert for me. I like smooth, creamy, sweet, flavorful frosting and I like butter...end of story.

I never use shortening in my frosting, I just never have been a fan. I know some say you can't taste it, but I can and like I mentioned. I like butter...end of story.

If you have tried any of my other frosting's like my Fanabuolus Vanilla Frosting or even my Creamy Dreamy Peanut Butter Frosting, then you know I don't mess around with my frosting and that they are as good as I proclaim. I'm a big fan of if I'm gonna eat this and it's filled with a tremendous amount of calories and fat in which I will have to work out for hours to make up the calorie deficit.

It better be damn well be worth it every over indulgent bite or lick!

Any ways let's talk chocolate as in dark chocolate as in dark chocolate butter cream frosting. Although I bet I had most of you at chocolate.

I like to add in a few extra elements to my frosting, which is why I'm, pretty sure they taste awesome and are so creamy and smooth. So let's stop with all this chit chat and get on to the recipe.

This is what you will need.

1 Cup of butter softened
2 oz Cream cheese softened
1/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder (dark if possible)
3.5 oz Quality Dark chocolate (60% or higher)  melted.
1 lb Powdered Sugar (Approx. 4 cups)
1-2 Tbsp Heavy cream, 1/2 & 1/2 or milk ( whatever you have)

In a large bowl combine butter, cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla until creamy and smooth. Add in the cocoa powder and mix well. Add in the melted chocolate until mixed well. Add in the powdered sugar 1/2 a cup at at time until the consistency is reached.

Now butter cream is extremely difficult to mess up. If it's too dry add in some liquid, which would be the heavy cream, 1/2 & 1/2 or milk. If it seems to loose add in more powdered sugar.

Now the addition of the melted chocolate allows this to set up a nice smooth layer on a cake or a billowy pile of chocolate deliciousness on top of a cupcake.

Or you could just eat it straight from the bowl....trust me I won't judge.

Hope you enjoy!!

Willy Wonka Party Printables!

Willy Wonka  and the Chocolate Factory had to be one of my favorite stories as a child. I mean who could resist a story of such sweet proportions and incredible fantasy.

Needless to say it was probably where my love affair with fun inspired treats emerged. Oh the possibilities!!
I have made a few Willy Wonka Inspired cupcakes toppers like these Oompa Loompa Toppers and these Willy Wonka ones.

But every once in a while my imagination takes a dip in the pool of my imagination and creates something even more fun. For these larger printables a customer had actually contacted me and asked if I could make a printable of  larger proportion, by using 8 1/2 x 11 sized paper, as anything larger tended to go up in price when looking into printing options.

And then the idea emerged from my head as I created these two new additions to my shop.

The Oompa Loompa is made up of three parts, each which prints out on a separate piece of 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, which makes it easy to print it at home.

After it is cut and assembled it measures approximately 23 Inches tall!

You an find more details on the Oompa Loompa cut out {{HERE}}. Now for the framed image of Willy Wonka. I had t get a little more crafty then usual, because there are so many parts, I didn't want it to be all broken and wanted a more seamless layered look.

In the end it worked out perfectly and the image after cut out and assembled measures 15 inches tall.

Now wouldn't this cute little guy make a great addition to any Willy Wonka themed party!!!

And what party would be completed without the presence of  Mr. Willy Wonka Himself! He would be a great addition to hang over the cake or a candy bar! You can find more details about Willy Wonka {{HERE}}

For more information on how you can purchase these please visit my Etsy shop {{HERE}}
I hope you enjoyed this post and have a sweet day!!

Chocolate Caramel Pecan Cookies and a New Opportunity!!

I have a confession to make to you all.

I tricked you. In a good way if that makes any sense. I figured me telling you all about a new opportunity I have been invited to participate in wouldn't entice you as much as my deliciously yummy chocolate caramel pecan cookies would.

So essentially what I am admitting to you, is that I tricked you with cookies to make you read more about this new "thing" I will be a part of! I tend do that to my kids as well, to get them to do things I know they don't want to do and cookies seem to be the best motivator of sorts. An I figured these bad boys would have a similar effect.....

Chocolate caramel pecan cookies!

This is one of my favorite chocolate cookie recipes that has been a springboard of sorts for many new cookie creations! A moist and flavorful cookie is fine all by itself, but  I personally always love a little "extra" with my cookies. So for these a I added in some pecans....

And of course some caramel!

And then I wrapped them all sorts of fancy! But not really because it's pretty simple :) But fancy and simple work too!

And you can read ALL about the cookies, the  recipe and my packaging ideas on the site Bake It Up a Notch where I get to share some of my own favorite recipes and packaging ideas in order to help others find ways to help in their adventures of owning a home based baking business!

Please feel free to swing on by to get the recipe for those delicious cookies I bribed you with {{HERE}} and feel free to visit the Bake It Up a Notch Facebook page to stay current on all the fun and festive posts that are sure to follow!!

Thanks for reading along!!
