Just so you know......

Okay...so now that the news of my pregnant self is out. Let's talk about some upcoming projects and changes that I will be doing.

Since I literally get so many comments and emails regarding this post about Monster High and making a cake....I will be making a cake and breaking down the steps on how to do it. I find it funny that I haven't even made a cake, yet people consistently ask me how.

So with that said, I'll be making one.

I am also designing a Monster High theme party, so I will be making a bunch of Monster High inspired desserts, mid-month. Stayed tuned, because I will share how I created them as well. I am also designing a 40th Birthday party around Eddie Van Halen's famed guitar, so that should be interesting as well!

Just so you all, know when I get pregnant....

I also become diabetic.....grrrrrrr thank you gestational diabetes.

So the one thing I love doing in life...baking and decorating, becomes sort of torturous, since I can't really eat the stuff for a bit. So I am cutting back on what I do until after the baby is born.

I have also made a few changes to the layout of this blog, to make it easier to navigate. If you glance at the top of this page there is a row of tabs, which I have added a templates and recipe tab to. This may help those of you in finding the specific template and design idea you are looking for.

As I find more time, I will add in all the how to's and tutorials to them as well. This is because my time is eventually going to be eaten up by the doctor's appointments and high risk pregnancy specialists I will have to see more and more as this pregnancy progresses.

I'm still available to answer questions and will help you out to the best of my ability with whatever you may need, but it may start to take me a little longer as time progresses to get back to you as  soon as you may need me...

Thank you all for your continued support and keep creating!

Bun in the Oven...

I haven't been around...I know and I apologize.

Trust me when I tell you a thousand and one good ideas have been swimming around the gray folds of my mind, but I have been unable to make...

One. Single. Thing.

But with good reason.....a really good reason. You see I found out on Valentine's Day that I am pregnant. Yuppers, we are expecting another one. But this excitement soon turned into the bur of nausea I have been immersed within over the past few weeks. Feeling sick all day and night, did not leave much desire to be in the kitchen cooking, let alone baking.

But now into my second trimester I'm feeling A WHOLE LOT better. So lets's get on with a few things, as I'm quite behind in some areas.

First I was nominated for a few awards. The first was The Liebster Award, passed on to me by the lovely Kim from Cups by Kim. An awesome woman I have had the honor of meeting on this blogging journey of mine, she makes beautiful cupcakes and a whole lot more so check out her site when you get a chance.

I'm supposed to tag five additional blogs to pass on this award to, but sadly I don't know who to pass it on to and honestly, I don't have a spare moment to wander about the bloggy world looking for people to pass it on to.

So I'm gonna switch it up a bit, I've never been one to follow the rules so please forgive me Kim <3

If you have a blog and you would like to get involved in this meme link up, email me or leave  me a comment and I will link you up, don't be shy if you want to connect with some great people, this is the way to start it.

Next, Kristin of Grateful Belly has also passed on the award of Versatile Blogger to me, I actually crossed paths with her through the previous award from Kim, and discovered her wonderful site, filled with delicious recipes and sweets and treats. Stop on by and give it a look, you won't regret it.

The rules of this meme are a bit more involved.....

1.Thank the person who nominated you and link back to them.

Thank You Kristin :)

2. Display the award on your blog.

3. Choose fifteen blogs that you recently found or have been following to pass the award onto. Leave a comment on their blog telling them they were nominated.

4.  Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself, so we can all get to know each other better.

Seven things...well lets try this...

1- I'm a stay at home Mom of two awesome little girls.
2-I believe that every thing happens for a reason, although during the rough moments it's hard to see the bigger picture.
3-I make my own rules in life :)
4-I'm funny, sarcastic, I love to laugh and I used to be super sharp and witty, that is until I had babies, but they sucked the witty out of me and now I'm lucky if I can string to coherent thoughts together.
5-I'm easy......meaning I'm easy to get along with, easy to talk to, easy to be around.
6-I'm a recovering addict of 6 1/2 years.
7-Sometimes when I talk I make no sense at all, meaning my brain seriously mixes my thoughts and words together and creates it own words...weird but true...always interesting and sometimes downright ridiculous. I attribute this also to having babies, since it started after I gave birth and just never went away.

I'm supposed to tag 15 blogs, but there is no way I can do this, I don't have the time right now, I know I'm not fun at all...Sorry Kristin :( So again, I'm gonna mix it up a bit and let you guys know that if you want to get in on this meme link up, let me know by sending me an email or by leaving me a comment below and I will add you in to the mix....and again don't be shy :)

Thanks and I'll be back soon letting you all know of some changes that are coming and of some awesome projects I'll be working on!!!

Thanks for sticking around :)

Cookie Swap Cookies.

Cookies are something I sort of fell into and am thrilled that I did.

Last summer as I was browsing the internet I came across the site The Sweet Adventures of SugarBelle and after a few hours of browsing through her archives a new obsession was born.

When I started I knew nothing and realized I had A LOT to learn and I still do. But I love the medium of Royal Icing, I love how it flows and I love when I can get the ideas that swim in my mind onto a cookie or many of the cupcake toppers I make.

I was fortunate to be invited to participate in a cookie swap recently and was introduced to a fabulous bunch of ladies. We each were secretly matched up with a random person and got to create a few cookies for them.

My person was Diana from The Cookie Princess and these are the cookies I created for her....

Each of the participants had to answer a bunch of questions, so wee were able to base our cookie designs on some of the answers given. She mentioned she like roses..so I made my own version of them...

Diana is from California....so I though Sun, Sun and more Sun.

She also like hiking, which I assumed meant she liked being outdoors, so I made some butterflies...

And mini ones....

But my favorites are these sunbursts and polka dots....I used my new PME tips...which are AH MAZING...I could get lost for hours making small swirls and pretty dots.

Hope you enjoy!

And thanks to all the ladies that participated in the cookie swap...The Shaky BakerSugar T's Cookies,The Plaid Cookie Company,Little Lulu's ConfectionsThe Cookie Princess, Not Your Everyday Cookie and The Cookie Cutters.
